The pros and cons of electric Tesla cars

Some people like Tesla cars, others don't like Elon Musk or Tesla. As the authors of this article, we are not affiliated with either party,

but rather aim to provide facts and information about Tesla cars without bias. This article is arguably the product of the opinions of 45 Tesla owners.

The pros and cons of electric Tesla cars

 Advantages of Tesla cars:

    Save fuel costs:

Tesla cars are so practical in terms of costs that the cost of operating and driving them cannot be compared to cars that run on petroleum-derived fuels. It is obvious that the cost of charging a car with electricity is much less than the cost of filling its tank with fuel every few days, especially with the imaginary high prices of oil derivatives that the planet is witnessing. In fact, "Tesla" is also distinguished among electric cars, especially with its luxury and the pioneering technology in which it operates.

    Scenic appearance:

Tesla cars are beautiful inside and out, as Elon Musk said in the past that “Tesla cars are computers on wheels.” In addition, these revolutionary cars are simple at the same time and are distinguished by their transparent roofs that give them elegance and charm.

    Fast car charging stations:

Tesla has distributed fast charging stations in most parts of the planet and this policy will continue to make charging of electric cars manufactured by this company progress and spread in all parts of the earth. In some countries, such as the United States of America, if you are a Tesla owner, you can cross the entire country without facing the problem of charging the car because charging stations are widespread.

There are electric charging stations for cars manufactured by some other companies with which Tesla cars can be charged, but these cars cannot use Tesla charging stations known as "supercharger". In addition, Tesla's electric charging stations are cheaper than other charging stations because Tesla does not rely on them for profit at all. Moreover, when you buy Tesla cars from some models such as Model S or Model X, you will get unlimited future charging credit, which may save you more than $10,000 over the course of your use of the car.

    Superior performance:

No other electric car can outperform Tesla cars to the point that the experience of driving them may make you stay away from driving ordinary cars for life, as many say. This is due to the driver's feeling that ordinary cars become boring compared to them, especially with regard to their extreme acceleration.

    Car charging at home:

Another of the most important features of "Tesla" is that it is rechargeable at home, which means that you do not have to go to the gas station or electric charging station to charge it, you can simply connect it to electricity during the night and go to work in the morning.

Disadvantages of Tesla cars:

    High purchase price:

The high purchase price may be the main disadvantage of Tesla cars. These cars are very expensive, and Elon Musk knows this well, and perhaps this is the reason why he promised people to launch a "Tesla" car that would cost no more than $25,000 within 3 years. The price of some models of Tesla cars, such as the Standard Range Plus Model 3, may reach $ 38,000, while others reach $200,000, without some additions such as the color of the car, tires, type of interior upholstery, and self-driving software.

    Battery problems:

If you park your car in front of the house during the night without charging it or moving it, it is very possible to find its battery empty in the morning. Tesla users call this problem "stealth draining of the car battery".

Tesla's manuals state that its battery drains at a value of 1% every day, meaning that parking it in the airport garage, for example, and traveling outside the country in the hope of riding it and bringing it home when you return may be difficult.

The rate of full battery discharge within two months, for example, is estimated at 60%, and if the charge reaches 0%, the software and parts used in it may be damaged. In addition, the main task of the lithium battery is to charge the 12-volt panel battery, which, if completely drained, will not be able to start or open the car at all. In this case, the only solution is to drag the car to the nearest electric charging station.

    Costly maintenance:

Of course, no one wishes to have an accident, but that always happens and when it happens, all we can hope for is that the driver and passengers of the car are not exposed to danger or harm, and that the damage is only in the car.

If this scenario happens to a Tesla, the repair can be very costly, even if the damage is minimal. A minor impact or crash in the bodywork can cost around $7,000 and sometimes up to $50,000 and we don't exaggerate these numbers.
